In the present work, laser direct deposition is used to build multi-layer structures of nickel-based alloy IN690 reinforced with titanium carbide particles at 5-25 percent by volume. This study shows the effects of various operation parameters including the initial weight ratio of matrix and reinforcement powders. The relationship between final TiC volume fraction in the depositions and TiC volume fraction in the initial powder mixture shows good retention of carbide part...$28.00

In this paper, the effect of powder composition on TiC morphology and clad hardness using in-situ laser cladding process has been studied. Two atomic ratios, 45% and 55%, were selected for C:Ti, the first one of which has the potential to form TiC without formation of the preliminary Ti (α) phase. Results show that chemical composition affects the TiC morphology, TiC distribution ...$28.00

Recently high-power, high-quality disk lasers are developed to produce deep penetration welds. This study was carried out to produce deep-penetration weld beads and to interpret the effect of combined beams on welding results and phenomena by using high power disk lasers of 10 kW and 16 kW. It was consequently confirmed that twin...$28.00

The strength of materials for pipe line becomes higher, because that is increase the capacity of transportation such as oil or gas. The performance of those welds was decreased by increasing of alloy contents added to increase the strength. In this study, high strength API X-100 steel was welded with 10kW fiber laser on bead-on-plate. The process parameters such as laser output power, tr...$28.00
