Dual Core Delivery Fibers for 1µm High Power Lasers Increasing the Flexibility in Applications

During the last 5 years the 1µm lasers have gained significant in beam quality. But there are several industrial laser applications that are only justifiable if the system offers the flexibility of cutting with 100µm fiber and just by a software switch to move into welding, where a much larger spot size is required. Up to now such applications have been done by using two seperate fibers and two seperate processing heads with all the limitations.
The Dual-Core delivery fiber solves this problem and additional offers further flexibility from for laser applications like hardening or cladding.
The Dual Core fiber additional offers the possibility to have a donut mode and gaussian mode available with the same laser source.
