Presented at ICALEO 2005
Laser cladding has been succesfully utilised on number of base materials. There is, however, very little data and knowledge available for cladding on cast iron substrates. Cast irons are difficult substrate materials for all welding processes due to its brittle microstructure. Laser cladding can solve the cracking problem indused by high heat input of other welding processes. There is still a great tendency for pore formations due to combustion of graphite. This study presentates results of cladding experime...$28.00
ICALEO 2005 Paper #P531 (Silicon Laser Alloying for Metal Dusting Environment)
Silicon Laser Alloying for Metal Dusting Environment
Authors:
Muhammad Ejaz, Corrosion and Protection Centre; Manchester UK
Presented at ICALEO 2005
Metal dusting is catastrophic carburization process, which causes metallic materials to disintegrate into particles of graphite, carbides and metal dust. This type of degradation typically takes place in the temperature range 450-800oC in gaseous atmospheres of high carbon activity. The resistance to metal dusting can be improved by increasing the amount of silicon in a metallic material. The silicon content of an alloy is typically kept below about 2%, because it adversely affects the mechanical properties of the material; however, higher concentr...$28.00

Presented at ICALEO 2005
As a result of the STCU project # 2604 implementation, we got results, which describe the impact of low-energy, monochromatic light upon rabbit's organisms. The exposures with wavelengths : 412 nm (blue), 520 nm (green) and 605 nm (orange) were studied. The mean power of applied irradiation was within range from 0.05 to 0.25 mW. The immunological, morphological and biochemical aspects of monochromat...$28.00
